Evolution of a Lancer: Update

Finally wiring has started. HKS exhaust pipes, gas tank, shifter and steering column installed. Just learned as well that the roll cage is on its way straight from Japan :)

Angono Street Art

They say that Angono is the Art Capital of the Philippines. Aside from the Blanco's, you will also find today's modern artists who chose to use the streets as their canvass.

Evolution of a Lancer: Update

Last Sunday checked again to see the progress of the project. Was happy to see that the one week gap was put to good use. The engine was already mounted and suspension parts are already in place.

Kilmer did a good job in mounting the parts. Looked very clean and fresh out of the factory. The rotors were resurfaced and the brembo calipers were repainted to give then a fresher look. All it now needs are fresh decals.

Every screw and part were synchromate to give them the OEM look.

Evolution of a Lancer: Update

I couldn't believe it, the progress is really going well. As of this morning was surprised to see that the suspension parts were mounted already. Noticed as well that the under chasis was rust proofed and color matched with the body. In the past few weeks, this car has seen more action than the last 2 years hahahaha.

The 1JZ has landed

Visited my dads place this morning and what do you know the engine has arrived. Contrary to my initial thoughts the engine was the newer vvti 3rd generation engine off the Chasers and Soarer's. Inspired by Smokey Nagata managed to convince my dad to go for the Celica fastback. Will check out a unit next week hope it works out.

1JZ in a..... Trueno or Celica?

I just learned that my dad got a 1JZ engine and was deciding what should host the engine and slap on the 15 x 10 Watanabe's. Currently our choices are the AE86 Truneo and the 75 Celica. If you had a choice what would you pick?

Evolution of a Lancer: Update

After 1.5 years the car finally got painted. Finally this project gets started once again. Unfortunately focus was put on my dads project car and forced this project to go on hiatus.

Decided to go with a straight yellow color of the Anzhal color charts. Nothing fancy just something that would last for the next few years. The car was basically stripped down to its bones and was coated. Hopefully the suspension and underchasis parts can be fitted by next week.
